Surround Harmondsworth Demonstration #7

Saturday, 11 April 2015 - 12:00pm

Following Channel 4's exposure of racist and sexist abuse in the heart of the UK's detention system in Yarl's Wood, everyone now knows what detainees, ex-detainees and asylum seekers have always known - the detention system is racist, sexist, brutal and unjust. Harmondsworth IRC is the largest detention centre in the UK, and has been the site of regular protest, uprisings, huger strikes and demonstrations. The 'Surround Harmondsworth' demonstrations have become the focus for the growing national movement to end detention once and for all. On the demonstrations, ex-detainees have spoke out, shouted and demanded justice, current detainees joined us via phone links, including the women of Yarl's Wood and detainees from other detention centres. Join Movement for Justice on 11th of April to demand to end detention, end fast track and stop the scapegoating of immigrants.
