Lauryn Hill Performed Her First Ever Concert in Ghana

Last month, Lauryn Hill performed a concert in Accra as part of the Afrobeats Big Festival. Ms. Hill had performed in Africa four times before her first ever Ghanaian show — at 2012’s Cape Town Jazz Festival, in Rwanda in 2010, Senegal in 2006, and Ethiopia in 2005. Lauryn Hill raised controversy in 2013 upon the release of her new single "Neurotic Society", which reportedly included anti-gay lyrics. The singer defended the track, explaining it was not targeting any particular group.
